Woensdagavond werden in de Londense O2 Arena voor de 34ste keer de BRIT Awards uitgereikt. One Direction mocht de award voor Beste Video in ontvangst nemen voor hun clip bij Best Song Ever. Ze haalden het daarbij van Calvin Harris, Ellie Goulding, John Newman en Naughty Boy.

Maar ... Harry Styles verscheen niet met de andere vier op het podium om de Award in ontvangst te nemen. Harry spurtte plots het podium op waarop hij zijn vertraging verklaarde: "Het spijt me, ik zat op het toilet. De toiletten zijn hier ook zo ver Euhm ... wat hebben we gewonnen?"

1D mocht ook nog, net als vorig jaar, de BRITs Global Success Award in ontvangst nemen.

Tijdens de awardshow waren er optredens van o.a. Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Beyoncé, Ellie Goulding, Lorde, Bastille en Pharrell Williams.
